Texas country and Americana group Lost Immigrants proudly announces the release of their latest single, “Fool Around,” to radio. The song will be available for download and streaming on April 1, 2023.
Since its inception in 2005, Lost Immigrants has crafted smartly written songs with intelligent lyrics and infectious melodies, amassing a rich catalog through three full-length studio albums, three short-form EPs, and two critically praised live albums. “Fool Around,” the band’s latest recording, is a celebration of rekindling dormant romances and the real work that goes into a lasting marriage. Recorded in Fort Worth with Americana singer-songwriter Phil Pritchett at the helm, “Fool Around” finds the band in classic form as it layers harmonies and instrumentation with an in-your-face, uptempo sound.
“The song started out as a condemnation of partners stepping outside the bounds of marriage to pursue baser needs,” said band founder and frontman James Dunning. “But the more I tinkered with lyrics and thought about it, the more I realized it’s more of an honest look about the things we do to keep the relationships that are worth it. The narrator is basically telling his wife, ‘if you’re itching to fool around, then fool around with me.’ It’s not autobiographical, but there’s plenty of ideas in there that I’ve learned from my life and the lives of my friends.”
“Fool Around” is the first single released to radio since “Get Lost” in 2009. Heart of Texas Music Group (https://www.heartoftexasmusicgroup.net/) is managing radio promotion for the new release.
Lost Immigrants is Dunning, Chad Stewart (drums), Ryan Pool (keys), and Blake Brownlee (guitar). Over the past decade, the band has had the privilege of performing its unique brand of Texas country and American music to audiences in Japan, South Korea, and throughout the continental United States. Selected works from the Lost Immigrants catalog can be heard on digital and terrestrial radio stations throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia.
